About Mouth of the South

It’s amazing what you learn about yourself as you age. Among many things, I’ve learned that I’m a total “foodie.” I follow more food blogs than I care to admit, love to find new recipes, either on-line, in newspapers, in cookbooks or on coupon clippings. And my kitchen is one of my favorite places in the world. Interesting, considering I could barely boil water when I left for college.

I’m not a culinary expert and I don’t dream up fabulous kitchen creations. But I’m eager to share information about great recipes and food products. That’s exactly the point of Mouth of the South.  Here, I will share with you what I’m cooking, where I found the recipe and pass along information about my favorite new products, especially when I stumble onto a great new regional food item. If you have a recipe that I should try, please send it to me at

I hope you enjoy Mouth of the South.

  1. Congratulations on the new blog! As you may suspect, I love new blogs from talented writers. 🙂

  2. The cookies sound so yummy. Can’t believe you haven’t shared those until now. I always cook the Pillsbury Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, but this is a homemade version that I will definitely enjoy.

  3. Great start to your blog. You should incorporate Twitter, Facebook and MySpace into it. Also you can always add video from Hulu on the blog for more traffice.
